There’s a useful 24-hour checkout policy, and the place is right next to mims hospital, which makes it convenient if you need to visit the hospital. But the rooms are very average and smelled of smoke. They also require a Rs 2000 advance for a Rs 1600 room, which seemed odd. Their card machine wasn’t working, so at 11 at night I had to go find an ATM. They kindly returned my balance at checkout.

The Wi-Fi is good, the rate is reasonable, and room service was good. It’s a suitable place to stay for a day or two if you’re visiting relatives at mims hospital. I’m not sure, though, how safe it is for women at night.

It’s a budget hotel, so don’t expect much. The rooms are reasonably clean, and the staff are friendly. Wi-Fi only works in the lobby, which is a pain. The room TV had a broken picture tube, though I don’t know if the TVs in other rooms are the same. If you just need somewhere to freshen up and run errands in the city, it’s not a bad option given the room prices.

I picked this place because it was close to Aster MIMS Hospital, and paid ₹1800 for three nights. The staff were genuinely polite and helpful, there are plenty of restaurants nearby, and being on the main road made local transport easy. It’s also very cheap. The room was non-AC, which I hadn’t thought through given Calicut’s humidity. I asked about moving to an AC room, but the quoted upgrade was more than twice my booking price. The receptionist said the difference came from offline and online rates, but it felt too expensive, so I stayed put. Sleeping was rough: there were lots of bed bugs and I was itching all night. There was dirt and mud between the sheet and blanket, the mattress was almost worn away, and the old furniture was coming apart, with wood falling off and plywood peeling. There’s no big sign outside, so it’s easy to miss. The reception looks small, though I think the property has over 40-50 rooms. I didn’t enjoy the stay and wouldn’t come back. At that price I probably shouldn’t have expected more. I’d only stay if I had to, and would choose AC and bring lotion.
