Royal Plaza City

We came for KLF and stayed three nights. The city location near the event venue was why we booked, despite seeing reviews that called the rooms small or unclean and the staff rude. Our room was small, but that worked for two of us since we mainly needed somewhere to sleep. It was clean, the washroom was well kept, breakfast was okay, and the staff were kind and helpful. I'd rate the stay 8/10. I took off two points because the door opens straight toward the bed, and because the liquor shop next door often had people queued outside. Walking through that area was unpleasant with the smell of liquor and smoke. PS, I took the video at checkout, so ignore the mess 🙃

My family and I had a great stay after arriving from Kasaragod around 6 PM, tired from the journey. I'd booked two queen-bed rooms for two days for my wife, son, and parents. A small booking technical issue caused a slight delay at reception, but the staff explained it clearly and got us checked in smoothly. There was also a technical problem with the guest count in the online breakfast app, yet the hotel served breakfast to all of us without hesitation. The hospitality was excellent. The hotel was clean, hygienic, good quality, and fairly priced, and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Calicut. Special thanks to arshad Vineesh and the entire team. We slept really well in the quiet room, and the bed was so comfortable. It was spotless, as was breakfast. The staff greeted us with warm smiles and were incredibly helpful with our requests. A wonderful stay, and I'd highly recommend it for a relaxing retreat.

The room felt uncomfortable the whole time because there was barely space to move or put my luggage. The online pictures make it look much larger than it is, and at this price the tiny room just isn't worth it. I expected more from a hotel in this category.
