OYO 30341 Hotel Nilachal

The way we were treated at checkout felt unsafe. After staff first told us there'd be no extra charge, they locked the exit and pressured us to pay before letting us leave. We felt stranded, so we paid. Earlier that day, we'd told the hotel we'd return after the usual checkout time and agreed to pay an additional amount. But when we got back, the bathroom problems were still there, and reception responded rudely when we called. Then two male staff came into our room without proper notice and told us to leave immediately. My friend and I were there with other women, and it was intimidating. We were staying during Puja and didn't spend much time in the room, so at first we overlooked the issues. But the washroom was in bad shape from day one: the flush and taps didn't work, and there were roaches. When we asked for help, our calls were passed around and nobody took responsibility. For what we paid and the reviews we had seen, hygiene and upkeep were well below expectations. I know no hotel is perfect, but basic cleanliness, hospitality, and guest safety matter. From our experience, I'd advise women travelers and families to avoid this property for their comfort and peace of mind.

As a stop for the night when you're traveling by vehicle, the location works well. This is a highway hotel with a restaurant and charging points for electric vehicles. But the rooms and food are overpriced for what you get. The rooms looked untidy and hygiene was questionable, so I wouldn't recommend it for a family vacation.

Hotel Nilachal was a convenient place to pause on our drive from Kolkata to Siliguri. The rooms were clean, the food was decent, and service was quick, so we could relax before getting back on the road. Good value and an easy stay.

I only stopped to charge my EV, so I can't speak to the rooms and didn't stay. The charging station worked perfectly. At the restaurant, service was prompt, though the food was average and the prices felt high. Most of all, customers shouldn't be pressured into leaving 5-star reviews.
