Lake Palace Family Resort Kumarakom

I spent four nights here and had such a great experience that I wanted to stay longer. The hospitality was top notch and everything else was really good. One small issue was that the room sizes listed on partner websites didn’t match the actual villa sizes. I raised it, and management is now taking care of it.

The hammocks by the backwaters were such a treat, and there were lovely places all over the huge, peaceful property to sit and relax. The views seemed beautiful from every corner. Every staff member we met was welcoming and polite, and the restaurant serving team made each meal a pleasure. The food was delicious too. Kavi deserves a special mention. He was so sweet and went out of his way to take lovely photos of us and the other guests. Those thoughtful little touches really made the stay memorable. Kumarakom Lake Resort is one of the best places we’ve ever visited, and we can’t wait to return for another relaxing, pampering stay.

Stay: May 31st to June 4th. My parents came back with lovely feedback about their stay, the service, and how warmly the staff treated them. The housekeeping and restaurant teams were especially outstanding. I’m very grateful that the team accommodated my request and helped make their anniversary and visit memorable. They also arranged a traditional Sadya meal when my parents asked for one. That meant a lot to them and added something special to their experience. The care and attention throughout really stood out. Please pass on my thanks to everyone involved. We appreciate all the effort and will be happy to recommend the resort to friends and family.

The spa was a highlight: the staff were professional and the treatments were high quality. The setting is lovely too, surrounded by nature, with a great atmosphere and beautiful sunsets. Service at the restaurant was only average. We often had to call a waiter to clear away dirty plates, which felt disappointing for a hotel of this level. Our biggest problem was the room. We had booked and paid well in advance for a lake-view villa, but on arrival they put us in a connected room shared with other guests. After long, exhausting negotiations, we were moved to a villa, but it faced the pool instead of the lake. We got no compensation, just empty apologies. Check carefully that the room type you book is the one you’ll receive.
