Kumarakom Wood Castle Serviced Appartments

My room was super comfortable and had a lovely balcony, with tea and coffee provided. Liji was the nicest host I’ve stayed with, and every morning she cooked a delicious local breakfast included in the price. This is the best stay I’ve had in India. I can’t recommend it highly enough. The hosts were kind and even accommodated our request for a later breakfast. Aunty made us a tasty, healthy breakfast at home. The place is well built and kept in immaculate condition. It’s close to the jetty, with good restaurants nearby that you can reach on foot. I’d definitely recommend staying here when visiting Kumarakom.

It felt like home to me. The owners and staff were so kind and attentive, and breakfast was homemade and delicious. The spot isn’t crowded, but restaurants, boating, and village walks are all close by. They can also arrange rides or activities if you’re interested. If you’re after an authentic Kumarakom experience, this is the place for you.

The owner was very responsive on WhatsApp and helped arrange a local spa booking and an Amazon Firestick for the TV. On the last day, the owner’s mother gave my mum a beautiful keepsake that we’ll always treasure. I’m writing this on behalf of my parents, who stayed at Kumarakom Wood Castle. It was a decent stay for the price, especially since we booked at the last minute in popular January, when it was the only highly rated property still available. The rooms didn’t seem as spacious as they looked in the booking.com photos, and a few more amenities would have made things more comfortable for my parents. There’s no lift, and the property is better suited to people travelling light. We had a lot of luggage, so in hindsight a different kind of hotel might have suited them better. Many of the other positives have already been mentioned by previous reviewers.
