I travelled with my family two days ago and had one of my best homestay experiences at The green leaf. It’s near Thekkady reserve forest, about a 13meters walk away. The rooms are spacious, good, and well maintained. They also arrange sightseeing and jeep safaris at affordable prices. If you’re looking for a homestay in Thekkady (kumily), I’d say you should visit The🍃green leaf. Thanks to the team The green leaf 💚

Terrible owner, and a bad experience 8-9 years ago. He always seems to have some story to tell. Back then, he listed the property on MakeMyTrip as a hotel, not a homestay, and there was no hot water in the bathroom. He threatened to make a police complaint because I left a bad review. When people post negative reviews, he replies by putting his guests down and making up stories about them to justify his response.

The owners’ generosity, kindness, and thoughtfulness stood out most. They welcomed us so warmly that we felt almost like family. The place is in a good location near the beautiful forest, and breakfast is very good. We can only recommend it. If I could give it more stars, I would!

The hospitality was good, our requests were all taken care of, and breakfast was good too. The room, though, wasn’t maintained properly. There were patches on the wall, the chairs felt so flimsy we worried they’d break if we sat down, the mirror furniture was broken, and the washbasin moved around. I’m not sure why shower curtains aren’t provided in this part of southern India. After a shower, water spills onto the toilet side and leaves the whole bathroom wet. It’s a good homestay, but there’s plenty of room for improvement.
