Dancing Dugong

The bathroom and toilet being in separate rooms was something I absolutely loved. My room was large, clean, and comfortable, and the resort is well placed for walking to the jetty and Bharathpur beach. Padmini, the manager, was courteous and helpful. It was very pricey, probably because it was peak season, but I had a comfortable stay otherwise.

The rooms have an earthy look with island-style decor and little artistic details that give them some Andaman character. They had modern facilities while still feeling cozy and close to nature. The resort is less than 100 meters from the Neil Island Jetty's main gate, and Bharatpur Beach is another 100 meters away. I think it's the best beach on the island, and it's easy to go for a walk, swim, or sunset stroll. With sunsets around 4:45-5 PM, staying near the jetty felt more comfortable than being farther out at places like Sitapur or Laxmanpur. Check-in happens in their cozy café rather than at a standard reception desk, which set a relaxed island mood. Padmini and Jai were lovely hosts, greeting guests with real smiles. After we checked in, they sent a digital note with Wi-Fi and network details, nearby places to eat, scooter rental contacts, cab and auto connections, and things to do with the best times for each activity. It made the stay easy to plan. There's also a DIVEIndia dive center on the property for scuba or snorkeling. Slots are limited because they focus on meaningful underwater experiences rather than commercial operations, so book ahead. We couldn't get a snorkeling slot, but Padmini and her team connected us with another dive center, and that turned out just as amazing. Their help really stood out. DIVEIndia Dancing Dugong Resort brings together ocean activities, warm hosting, and peaceful island comfort. I'd recommend it for a convenient stay and a taste of island life on Neil Island.

We'd stayed at lots of places in the Andermans, and this was easily the best. The staff are kind, friendly, and smart, and made the place feel special. While we were there, we did our first dive with dive india, which is linked with dancing dugong. It was stunning and so easy to arrange that we came back for a full dive course, which was excellent. Can't recommend either place highly enough.

The people are so helpful and relaxed, especially Padmini, and the food is awesome and quite reasonably priced. The room was really pretty too. It's quiet, has a laid-back feel, and is only a two-minute walk from the jetty and about a minute from Bharatpur beach. Go for the diving experience if you're here. I missed it and regretted it big time. Not much to complain about, except the mosquitoes. They do have repellents.
