Lavasa Select Dasve

The location is the big draw at Fortune Select, overlooking the Promenade and lake, the only part of Lavasa with much activity. Staff were courteous and the property was well kept. We arrived right at 12pm and luckily got upgraded to a room with a better view than we’d booked. The room was clean and comfortable, though it could use some airing and is showing wear. We ate at the in-house North Indian restaurant, and the food was delicious. Breakfast was decent and checkout was quick. It works for couples or families. Prices are a little steep, though we got a great deal.

I had a nice stay. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable, and both breakfast and dinner were good. The location was pleasant, away from the busiest streets but still close to them. My room had an awesome view, though I imagine it’s even better from higher up. At around 7500/- per night, the room felt a little overpriced. Room tip: choose a mountain-view room on floors 3-5.

There’s a conference hall for work meetings and a bar, with plenty of cuisines to pick from. The food was above average, and the staff behaved well. Rooms and overall atmosphere were good, the location was excellent, and the views from the rooms were great.

The pool is the one thing the kids enjoyed. I’m not sure it gets cleaned regularly, though. For the amount charged, the place is only average, and everything is expensive. Staff service was pathetic, including at reception. They didn’t even provide a toothbrush kit, and the language barrier was a big problem. I couldn’t tell what language they understood. Maintenance was also pathetic. ITC should look after the property and reconsider the rates for the services provided. We get much better service for a lot less elsewhere.
