We stayed two nights with our family, including two small kids. The rooms were spacious and very good, and the property was clean, with a good ambience and a decent approach road. The food was very good, and the owner and staff were good too. It’s close to Leh Market, but value for money and suitability for kids felt average. Hot water wasn’t reliably available, and room service took a long time. With children, both mattered to us. It seemed like one person was handling all the requests, which led to delays. There was also a smell of smoke and alcohol that was uncomfortable around the kids. I understand guests were responsible for it, but some attention to how it affected others in public areas would have helped.

Food here is good, but there’s nothing available after 9 PM. If you ask for something later, the staff act as if they’re doing you a favor. They need to learn how to treat guests, too. They made us feel like we should be grateful just to be allowed in. The one thing going for Hotel Shanti palace is its spot right by the market. It’s overpriced, and you can find other hotels with lower rates and a better guest experience.

The staff were rude and extremely unprofessional, and the food was even worse. There was a smell in the rooms, no basic amenities, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work inside. The TV wouldn’t turn on and the remotes were missing. Water kept leaking in the washroom, and nothing there was good. Never stay here.

Our travel agency booked us at shanthi palace, and my room was awful. It was next to the kitchen, so the noise kept me from sleeping at night. They moved me only the following day. That room was a little better than the first one.

The rooms are good, and the location is ideal, but the service isn’t very good. Staff training could use attention, and the hotel could add a few more things, like kettles in the rooms. It’s an okay place overall.
