Hotel Yarab Tso

Arun and his team were helpful throughout my three night stay, and requests were handled in five minutes or less. They did as much as they could to accommodate us. The hotel was clean, and the food was good and varied, including local dishes. I’d booked the hotel and tours to nearby places through the owner, but weather meant we had to cancel a few stops. We weren’t charged for those cancelled locations.

The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well looked after, and the staff were capable and helpful. Their English is limited, so there can be occasional misunderstandings. I also would have liked some breakfast choices that weren’t Indian. I had a pleasant stay and would recommend the place, especially for its cleanliness and professional staff.

I stayed for a week to acclimatize before the Ladakh marathon. The property is lovely and close to the race starting point at NDS Memorial. My room was comfortable, I slept well, and hot water was available. The internet connection was good too. The staff did a lot to make the stay comfortable. Food choices were decent, and the chef was happy to make small adjustments to suit our taste.

I loved having breakfast in the garden. It was peaceful, the weather was perfect, and the food was delicious. My room looked onto the garden and the mountains, and sitting on the balcony to read in the fresh air was so relaxing. Yarob Tso is close to the main market but away from its noisy center. I could walk to the street for food and drinks, including Browns Cafe. A taxi to the market took about 10 minutes and cost 200-300 rupees, though walking there was also a good way to get some exercise.
