The Ayali Leh

At the end of our stay, Snow View Hotel felt like our home in Leh, and we really miss it. It's in the upper Changspa area, around a 15-20 minute walk from Leh market. From the balcony, we could watch the beautiful mountain landscape for ages with a hot tea in hand. David is a naturalist who knows the local plants and animals well. As a bird lover, he can point you to specific places to spot them. He and his wife Naomi were welcoming from the moment we arrived and did their best to meet our needs. The staff, led by Iqbal, were well trained, welcoming and ready to help. Our room was cozy and well appointed, with lovely views of the snow-capped mountains. The restaurant served tasty local and international food, and experienced Chef Vijay Singh could customize meals so each one felt unique. The garden grows many of the vegetables and herbs used for meals, and Vijay Singh and his assistant would bring fresh herbs in from it. On sunny days, there's an open sitting area where you can eat. We had some difficulties in the first few days, and David took extra care of us with prompt medical treatment, medicine and oxygen. They looked after us well. It was a wonderful stay, and I strongly recommend Snow View Hotel to anyone hoping for a memorable trip to LEH.

Snow View Hotel in Changspa, Leh, has the cozy feel of a retreat surrounded by Ladakh's striking scenery. Naomi and David are wonderful hosts who made us feel at home. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed, with beautiful snow-capped peak views, and the restaurant offers tasty local and international food after a day out exploring. The hotel's sustainable practices were another plus, making the stay enjoyable while being environmentally conscious.

The food here was better than anywhere else we tried in Ladakh. David and Naomi were so welcoming and took care of every little thing during our comfortable stay at snow view. They also helped us plan our itinerary and sort out other bookings. A special thanks to all of you for looking after us so well.

It's a challenge to find this place, but once you get there, it's a little piece of heaven. There are apricot trees nearby, an organic field and plenty of parking. David and Naomi make sure guests' needs are met. David has lots of hospitality experience and loves birds.
