Nature's Retreat By OYO Rooms

The room was good, and the area outside was quiet. It is an outdoor setting, though, so there were a lot of mosquitoes. The receptionist was very cute, helpful, and understanding. My main disappointment was the service: we realized we had forgotten a water bottle after reaching the room, and the room service person arrived only after 3-4 calls and 40 minutes. My girlfriend was very thirsty, and I regretted choosing this hotel at that moment. They need to fix this.

The cheap rooms and clean bathrooms with OYO toiletries earned it three stars, and the staff at the residence area were helpful and did whatever they could. Still, this was a huge disappointment and nowhere near #Oyo #OyoHotels quality. There were cockroaches on the bed, spiders by the headboard, dirty walls, no WiFi, and the AC shut itself off after about 10 minutes. The reception area looked shady, and the curtains were see-through and didn’t cover the whole window. There were just two plug points: one used by the TV and set-top box, and the other by the door, wired so that plugging in a charger turned on the tube light. It’s okay if you’re going to spend most of the day out in Lonavla.

We ended up taking a nearby 3BHK bungalow from the same owner because the standard hotel rooms were too small, but even that was a mess. There was no water, the place was unhygienic and untidy, and after many calls the caretaker was still trying to get water up with a machine. Earlier, nobody was at the counter for 20 minutes, and the caretakers were reluctant to tell us which building was the hotel. Once we found it, the rooms weren’t ready. We had booked four deluxe rooms but were given three standard ones, and the rooms smelled of eggs, as if they hadn’t been cleaned after the last checkout. They denied that we had booked deluxe rooms. We just wanted to enjoy the day, but it turned into a mess. I wasn’t sure whether we were in a village or in Lonavala on vacation. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel, especially for families, or Oyo properties in general going forward. Don’t be fooled by the pictures. Oyo has failed to keep track of these shady hotels, and putting Oyo’s name on them isn’t enough.

The lodging setup here felt seriously neglected. The gates were left unguarded, and there was no security for the people running the place. The doors were cranky and didn’t have strong locks; with no gate around the layout, anyone could walk in during the night and steal something. Water was another problem: we had to get up in the middle of the night to turn on the motor, even though that should be their responsibility. The WiFi was really bad, with random insecure passwords that anyone outside could apparently bypass and use. Deepest condolences to anyone planning to go. Please don’t book here, and I’ve told fellow travelers the same. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
