OYO Townhouse 565 Hotel Hridaya Inn

After a long trip back from Prayagraj, I got to the hotel at 2:30 am, only to be told there was no room because they'd overbooked it through the Oyo app. I'd booked on makemytrip. The manager said I could stay at another Oyo property he owned, but that property's manager also tried to send us somewhere else. Horrible experience!

The receptionist was very rude and uncooperative. The room, bathroom, and bed linen were all dirty, and the AC barely worked. They gave us just one towel for two people and no toiletries. A pathetic experience.

The location was good, but the property is badly neglected. My room had no TV or Wi-Fi, the AC didn't work properly, the furniture was covered in fungus, and the bathroom mirror was broken. Basic amenities were missing. It also seemed to be used by local couples for purposes other than travel.

This was a deeply distressing experience involving the hotel and OYO, with what felt like manipulation and financial loss for a stay I never had. The people affected were a woman and her 13-year-old child. I left the property after making an official complaint to OYO, and later, back in my hometown, I found out OYO had charged me for two days. I never stayed, checked in, or used any service beyond the lobby to speak with staff and lodge the complaint. OYO asked for a booking ID that never existed under my details; I have messages confirming this. They said there was a booking under someone with the same name but different dates. I had booked five days, so how could there be a booking with dates and an ID I didn't know about? They changed or manipulated the dates to two days and said I'd been checked in and charged for that time. OYO said it needed the owner's validation of my complaint and would get back to me. Who gets to validate whether their own service fails its standards? The hotel had already been unhygienic, shabby, and poorly maintained. At the entrance, the bellboy said they were fully booked and would move me elsewhere, even though I'd already been checked in before I arrived. I refused because I'd chosen it for its proximity to work, so they gave me a room below the category I'd paid for and told me to make do until occupancy allowed. They'd overbooked, yet I was left bearing the consequences. Staff were unresponsive and kept calling a manager who wouldn't respond positively to me. Since I hadn't personally checked in with my consent, checking out wasn't even the question. I told them this was an improper way to handle things and left. I could write much more about the ordeal, but the point is the hotel's and OYO's alleged malpractice left customers facing charges for a stay they never had, plus mental distress and financial harm for services not used. Why should ordinary customers bear the cost of their wrongdoing? Hospitality should mean good service, not duping people. I can't recommend this stay or service. The experience was awful and a shocking eye-opener.
