Avenue 11 Premium Stays

The owner helped us plan where to go in Madurai and put us in touch with the right people for a smooth darshan. He even offered to drop us at the bus station when we were leaving, which was very kind. Everyone, including the manager and staff, was courteous and respectful, and we felt looked after from arrival. Our stay at Avenue 11 Premium Stays was peaceful, comfortable, and hassle-free. We’d gladly book again when we return to Madurai.

Avenue 11 Premium Stays is in a quiet residential part of KK Nagar, Madurai. The Meenakshi Temple is about 4 km away, and hospitals, bus stands, and restaurants are also easy to reach, though you’ll need a short ride to the temple area and other main tourist spots. The peaceful setting and homely feel may suit families or anyone who values comfort over being among the tourist traffic. The rooms are spacious, air-conditioned, clean, and generally well kept. Bathrooms are decent, and the bed, bedding, and free WiFi make for a comfortable stay. Staff are often welcoming and helpful. The complimentary breakfast gets a lot of praise for its variety and taste, especially the South Indian dishes, though some guests have had mixed feedback about the serving times and choices. There are some caveats: people have found the price a little high for what’s offered, and a few have mentioned dust or older furnishings in certain rooms. It’s a solid option for a clean, comfortable stay with good service, particularly if you get a good deal. Anyone expecting premium luxury may find it falls short.

I paid ₹13,000, but the stay wasn’t close to worth that price. The room and premises were extremely dirty and unhygienic. There was food waste along the hallway, which had a strong unpleasant smell, and the dirty doormat looked as if it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The toilet was stained and poorly maintained too. Room service was very poor and unresponsive. I expected basic cleanliness and comfort, and neither was there. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel or stay here again.

Jan 21-22 was a comfortable, enjoyable stay for us. It felt like a home away from home. The place is quiet and peaceful, the rooms are clean and well maintained, and both the service and complimentary breakfast were excellent.
