Regency Madurai by GRT Hotels

I booked by calling the hotel directly, and had a good stay. The service was good, and the team handled customers and questions professionally. Rooms were clean and had the facilities we needed, and room service was good too. Receptionist Anwari was polite and managed check-in and checkout well. Naveen also helped confirm the booking. The food was decent, and the breakfast buffet was good. There weren't many vegetarian choices on the à la carte menu, though. There was a salt issue with one dish, but food manager Bala took care of it, replaced it, and kindly kept checking in afterward. They also left complimentary snacks in the room, which was a nice gesture. I'd recommend this hotel for a family stay, though I found it a little expensive. Thanks to the team.

The Bodhi spa massage was the highlight for me. The staff were experienced, humble, and very professional, and I’d happily recommend it to anyone staying here. The stay itself was comfortable, but the restaurant order handling needs work. We followed up three times after ordering, the staff seemed confused, and we eventually left.

The room and washroom were spacious and quite good, and the staff were friendly and prompt. Food was the weak point. Dinner buffet dishes were all below warm, with a poor selection, so we mostly ate rasam-rice. Even the rasam was cold and had to be reheated. Breakfast had a better spread and taste, but was cold too. The room-service pizza was below average as well. They really need to improve the food. Everything else was well managed and we had no complaints.

We came for friends’ wedding at the nearby church, so the location was really convenient. The room was spacious and clean, and thankfully quiet. The bed was comfortable, though I wish the twin beds had been joined as a double. We were welcomed warmly and got good service throughout. There was a wide choice in the restaurant, and the after-wedding banquet tasted good.
