Treebo Balini

I gave one star because I value the Treebo brand, but this property didn’t match other Treebo places I’ve stayed at. The rooms were average and the service was poor. They charged even for basics like toothpaste and a toothbrush, and the soap and shampoo supplied were OYO-branded. There were no Hindi channels on the cable TV, and tea at the complimentary breakfast cost extra. Compared with OYO hotels and other groups around the railway station in Madurai that I could get for about 2000 rs, this was below average and a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend it. It reflects badly on the Treebo brand.

It was fine to stay here, with no particular problems, but at similar rates I think breakfast could have been better. We got just 2 pieces of Idly, 1 vada, and one tea or coffee. The rooms were reasonably spacious, and the hotel is on a main street with plenty of nearby restaurants.

I’d rate it 2.5. The hotel needs work on maintenance: toilets got blocked during our stay, the bathroom hangers looked rusty, and the furniture needs more dusting or renovation. There were cobwebs in the room and visible moisture damage on the wall. For a Treebo, I expected a much better ambience. On the plus side, it’s near the KK Nagar arch with easy transport, and reception and staff are friendly and try to make you comfortable. The complimentary breakfast was tasty, with idli, dosa, vada, and uthappam, but it was the same or almost the same each day and there wasn’t a choice. We stayed six days and hope things improve by our next trip.

Parking only had space for three cars, but we got one, so no complaint there. Staff were helpful and courteous, the room and bathroom were clean, and breakfast was very good.
