Grand Resort

The forest setting felt peaceful, quiet, and clean. The pool was well maintained, and there was a small ground for cricket, badminton, and other games. We stayed with family and friends who had children, and enjoyed the clean room, hygienic toilet, good food, and quality breakfast. The owner was there in person, managing resort activities, which helped our family feel safe and secure. We had a superb experience. Grand Resort Mahabaleshwar also has a remarkable location: a 2-3 acre campus with over 1,000 trees, right in the forest yet only minutes from the main market. It feels unlike anywhere else in Mahabaleshwar, and in May 2026 we stayed in a non-AC room without needing air conditioning, even in the peak summer heat. The setting and location deserve 5/5. The interiors and infrastructure need a thorough revamp. With the "Serving Since 1970" tagline, the older infrastructure isn't surprising, but the furniture feels refurbished, and the clean bathrooms have rusty, stained fittings. The rooms and bedding smell musty, as if sealed up for a long time. Rooms have no windows, just a balcony that we couldn't leave open because monkeys might come in. The main reception also felt stuffy and damp smelling. Breakfast was decent but had little variety. There's an electric kettle but no tea or coffee sachets. The TV only gets standard free channels, and you have to ask staff for them. The pool was clean, though the showers were temperamental.
