Rain Raga Resort

There’s not much choice for dinner, but otherwise I had a very comfortable stay. The hotel is centrally located in Mahabaleshwar, within walking distance of the ST Bus stand. The rooms were very clean, the ambience was beautiful, and Ankit and the rest of the team gave commendable hospitality.

Rain Raga Resort has a proper swimming pool and a separate gaming area for relaxing and entertainment. There’s plenty of parking, the staff are friendly, and the clean rooms feel comfortable. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner, and complimentary breakfast comes with different menus on different days. It’s a good place to stay in Mahableshwar, and I’d consider returning.

The resort, food, and service were good, and manager ankit shukla helped us a lot. But the taxi union issue was very bad. When I arrived with my tempo traveller, I was forced to hire their taxis even though I’d already paid for the tempo traveller. They started threatening me and calling someone. There’s no such rule. With a group trip, splitting everyone into different taxis is difficult and leads to arguments and mismanagement, and I had to pay double. I run a travel group and need to travel frequently. If we have to use separate taxis, I won’t consider bringing groups to this hotel again. We took the tempo to another hotel for lunch and were allowed in, so this was a problem at this hotel. They need to deal with it or risk losing customers like us who bring large groups.

The washbasin leaked throughout my stay, and the breakfast was badly managed. When a large group with the next reservation arrived early, management let them into our rooms before our check-out time, while our luggage was still there. It was very inconvenient and felt like a serious invasion of privacy. Breakfast was being taken away almost as quickly as it was replenished, and management seemed unprepared for the group. My wife and child left hungry without eating. The property is by the roadside, and vehicle noise and honking continued throughout our stay. I was surprised there’d been no warning about the noise, and it made the quiet I expected impossible. I hope these issues are addressed for future guests.
