Residency Gourish

When I checked in May 26, most of the rooms were empty and one man seemed to be handling the whole property. Though it's well built, upkeep is poor. The infrastructure feels old and smells bad. Avoid it.

The beds were clean and comfortable, and we didn't see any insects. But the bathrooms in both rooms we tried smelled horrible. We originally got a double decker room with one bathroom, then changed rooms after they'd promised two over the phone. The change took a while, and the upper bathroom in the double decker setup doesn't have a bath option. Check-in was difficult because there weren't many staff around. The restaurant had few choices, and what we found seemed a little unhygienic and didn't taste good. For a one-night family stay, the resort is decent, but the smelly, unhygienic toilets were a real problem for me.

The welcome from the staff is a big plus. People say the Maharashtrian food here has that homemade feel, with thalis, curries, and chapati. Prices are reasonable and portions are generous.

The place is big and could be good, but poor management has left it in awful shape. The pool and games were in terrible condition, and the rooms and washrooms were dirty and smelly. I arrived at the stated check-in time, but my room wasn't ready. Even after I complained several times, cleaning took an hour. While I waited in a shared area, food scraps that had been left there for over a day made the whole place smell bad. Don't be misled by the pictures. Skip this hotel.
