The service and staff were the worst part of a terrible stay in Manali. Our rooms were dirty, and after they mopped with water the floors stayed damp and smelled bad. When we asked for cleaning or a room change, they initially refused. The food arrived cold and wasn’t good. Tea and breakfast were left outside unattended for hours before anyone in our group had arrived. When we asked them to reheat it, they refused and were rude. We also felt unsafe. The hotel hosts corporate events, and people who weren’t guests were walking the corridors, staring at female guests and making comments. When we raised this with staff, they ignored us and stopped responding. I’d never recommend staying here. The great reviews don’t match our experience, so anyone booking should read recent reviews first.

The balcony view was the best part, and the rooms were clean and well looked after. We had a pleasant stay overall. The food was just okay. The candlelight dinner was disappointing too: it amounted to a candle on the table and didn’t feel like a proper candlelight setup.

The worst part of our stay at BD Resort was a frightening incident during dinner. Some people from outside, possibly cab drivers, and hotel staff got into a violent argument with rods and sticks in front of the dining hall. We hid behind the dining area, scared and experiencing anxiety and palpitations. It felt completely unsafe and unacceptable. Other problems added up. A large rat was roaming in my room within half an hour of check-in. They moved us after we asked, but I couldn’t know whether the rat had already gone into another room. The hot water issue also took too long to resolve despite two calls to the manager and three to reception. When staff finally came, their manner was highly unprofessional. One night the power went out for 40-45 minutes, even though the rest of Manali city had electricity, and there was no backup. We weren’t given Wi-Fi, and mineral water cost extra, which felt unacceptable for this level of stay. The food was average at best, and hospitality was zero. I stayed at BD Resort, Manali in the second week of February 2026. The place seemed poorly managed, unhygienic, and unsafe. I strongly advise travelers, especially families, to stay elsewhere. There are better options in Manali. Never again.

The area is very remote, with no shops nearby. The location itself deserves five stars, but getting to it means being far from amenities. The staff were rude, the hospitality and food quality were nowhere near one star, and service was so poor they didn’t even help carry our luggage. I was very disappointed.

The executive suite balcony had a superb view, the one thing this hotel has going for it. Food was just okay, and the staff were unwelcoming, slow to respond, and laid back. This was the worst hospitality I experienced on my Himachal trip. Management should learn reception and humility from the local people.
