Cloud 9 Cottages

We were shown well-maintained first-floor rooms, then moved without explanation to a dingy, poorly lit room on a lower floor. There was no proper lighting, clean water, or even a basic water supply. WiFi had been advertised, but there was none, and we felt stranded. For two days we were left in a freezing, dark room. Staff were almost nowhere to be found, and those present were indifferent and unsupportive. No one checked on us or helped, despite repeated requests. When we tried to resolve things with the owner, he ignored our calls and messages and refused to refund the pending amount we believed was rightfully ours. From the start, we felt misled and cheated. This was by far our worst hospitality experience, a nightmare stay in Manali. The place is a scam, run by people who don’t care about guests’ well-being. I strongly urge everyone to avoid it at all costs.

The location is quite far from town, and the street-opening door to the room felt weird. There was also a lot of noise from locals or staff around the place at 2 o’clock in the night. Only one room had a view, and it was just ok ok. There’s nothing fancy about the stay, though it could work for an overnight sleep. No breakfast is provided. They asked for money upfront and then wouldn’t respond. I had to ask three times just to get water, and they didn’t provide basics like towels, slippers, or toiletries. They say they’re pet friendly, but the staff would trouble you. The service was pathetic.

The service was very poor and slow, with no power backup. Food quality was poor too, and there wasn’t even a locker in the room. We didn’t get individual towels for seven people. Don’t choose this hotel just because of its outside appearance. It was my worst hotel experience for service and food, and it shouldn’t be called a hotel or a place to stay.

There’s a huge shared area where you can hang out outside your room, with plenty of space that makes the place feel like home. Chef Keshav deserves special thanks for making delicious food day and night, whenever you want it and whatever you want. A lovely stay!
