FabHotel Baragarh Regency

The rooms were neat and clean, apparently because they'd been renovated recently. Apart from that, this felt like a furnished room for rent, not a hotel. I stayed with my family for two days and booked three rooms. Here's what we ran into. There was rarely anyone at reception, so we had to call the back office. Nobody greeted us warmly, and at check-in they handed us a jug of water and disappeared. There was no room service, no extension number, and no air conditioning. When I called from my mobile for the menu, they refused to provide one because they had only a few copies. They also provided nothing else for the room, such as soap, a magazine, newspaper, or toothbrush. There was no security guard or CCTV, and the gate stayed open, so anyone could come in at night. The washroom was shared rather than attached to the room, which is hard to understand for a 3-star hotel. Payment by card or online wasn't available, and there was no nearby ATM. A server messed up our food order. When I complained, the GM replied, “ab kya karna hai,” with no apology or politeness. The person who cleaned the hotel floor was staying in the next room and drank on the lawn in front of ours. We found that funny and unprofessional. I work in the same industry and felt offended that this kind of behavior reflects badly on it. A free bit of advice for GM Rittam Thakur: don't hesitate to say sorry and thank you. Those words help a hotelier handle guest complaints.

The food was good, though the service was slow. The hotel's location is excellent, but the staff and manager came across as unprofessional and lacking basic conversation skills. We arrived late on our first day and found our room had been given to someone else. The room we were assigned had a view of old hotel furniture, as shown in the picture attached to the review. After we spoke with the owner, we were moved to another room.

The rooms were clean and lavish, and the service and food were both good. The hotel had only recently opened when we stayed. Its location is convenient for reaching Mall Road while being away from the usual market area.

Just an average hotel. The room was okay, but service was really poor and there weren't any attendants. The buffet dinner was a blunder: they charged 250 per head and said it would be unlimited, but they ran out of food and we had to go hungry.
