Hotel New River West Manali

The rooms are affordable and there's parking, but the place is just okay. There aren't good restaurants nearby, so you may end up relying on noodles from small shops, at 40 per plate. My room had no electricity when I checked in, and I had to call staff at least four times before it was fixed. For shopping, head to Mall road.

I stayed for 2/3 nights. Room service was quite good, but if you run into a problem the staff don't give a clear answer, and they seemed to forget their duties. The hot water geyser didn't work at all. I once asked a staff member for water; he took the jug and never brought it back. Don't go to this hotel.

We were assigned this hotel through Thrillophilia, but the rooms weren't cleaned when we arrived to check in. We had to discuss it at reception for quite a while before breakfast was provided. Overall, it wasn't a good experience.

The surroundings are beautiful, with high snow-covered mountains visible from the room window. Shops are close by, so you can find a meal or order one, and there's lots of parking for vehicles. The rooms are comfortable and have a slight fresh wood smell. The staff were good too. Walking around in the dark, though, doesn't feel very comfortable.
