Suncity Resort Mandarmani

We stayed in a cottage in a great spot, and the resort has direct access to a clean beach that’s lovely for unwinding. The pool was well kept, there’s a big private area with different room options, and the restaurant is worth trying. Room service and housekeeping were excellent too. Some things in our room were broken, including the lock and door handle, which matters for security. The resort feels dated and needs renovation, and it seems to be in a period of transition. Apart from those issues, we had a great stay. I’d recommend it for a laid-back weekend.

We stayed in the Conch House. The staff were courteous and very helpful, and room service was quick. The food was fresh and flavorful, though fairly expensive. The Sun Resort has a spacious setting with a pool, boating, private beach, temple, garden, and restaurant. It has a lot going for it, but maintenance needs attention: the washroom doors were dirty and there were wooden insects around.

The property is large but feels outdated and needs proper maintenance. Our rooms were poorly kept, with worn furniture, and the bathrooms lacked cleanliness and upkeep. Basic comfort and hospitality standards were missing. I stayed for two days with eight family members, and the service and quality were far below what we expected. The food was neither fresh nor flavorful, especially for the prices charged. Even morning tea wasn’t served. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay.

We came here to shoot a pre-wedding video, and the resort gave us plenty of spaces to work with. Much of it wasn’t operational, though, and the place needs urgent renovation and better maintenance staff. It’s a very large, lovely property that could be the best in Mandarmani if it were looked after properly. Service was good. I only tried the complimentary breakfast, and it was very average. For a shoot, I’d still recommend the resort.
