Hotel De Heritage

The room was average, but the staff being unavailable made the stay uncomfortable. I had told them I’d check out at 9 in the morning, yet no one was there, and their phones couldn’t be reached. There was also an unpleasant interrogation when we had just checked in, apparently about some other inquiry. We shouldn’t have had to deal with that, especially when support staff weren’t around to help.

The hygiene was shockingly bad, both in the room and around the pool, and the TV, AC, and heater didn’t work. When we raised these problems, management didn’t respond properly. We were there as a family and had booked at the last minute because we couldn’t find a better option. It turned into one of the worst stays we’ve had. I’d tell others to avoid this hotel.

JOHSON at reception was the one good part of the property. The rest of the experience was frustrating. We had older family members with us, and only after reaching the OYO property did I find out there was no elevator and our rooms were on the second floor. The swimming pool also came at an extra charge, drinking water was an issue, and the deluxe beds were quite small, nowhere near queen size. I’d booked four rooms for two nights at around 2 AM on the first night. When I called OYO customer service to say we couldn’t stay the second night because of the stairs, pool charge, and water provision, they refused a refund. They offered to let my family use the pool free, and that was all. They also said I should have asked about the elevator and explained my problems after booking, since it wasn’t listed among the website amenities. The executives didn’t explain the amenities properly, and when I asked about something they hadn’t mentioned, they asked why I hadn’t brought it up. The cancellation policy only came into play when I asked to cancel. Krishna and his supervisor Abhishek/Ashok were the executives I dealt with. I had no real choice but to stay the second night rather than put my family through more trouble.

I booked through OYO two months ahead for January 24-26, 2026, but they refused to let us check in. OYO customer service wasted our time, and in the end I had to call the police at 100. Thanks to Kottukuppam police, they got us a room. The room was in awful shape: no geyser, AC, drinking water, or toiletries. I’m planning to take the hotel management to consumer court.
