Hotel Madhuvan

I’ve stayed here twice for over 10 days each time, at affordable rates. The rooms are clean and have the main basics, including a kettle, iron, and AC. The bathrooms are good and have geysers, and room service comes to clean daily or when requested. The location is central and near the railway station, with public transport easily available to the temples and other important places. The food is good enough to eat every day, though some menu items are better than others and a few aren’t up to standard. One thing that could be improved is the spring mattress, which isn’t comfortable for a longer stay.

The hotel is in a convenient spot, and the rooms are moderately spacious, but the maintenance and room service let the stay down. The bathroom flush leaked, the switchboards were broken, and the AC wasn’t working. Cleaning was inadequate, and management ignored these issues, blaming the owner’s negligence. Broken doors also let in mosquitoes, and the lift didn’t work, making check-in and check-out very difficult. They didn’t provide toiletries either.

The rooms were better than Marriot, but the prices were only a fraction of theirs. This family-run place in Mathura is reasonably priced, has excellent cuisine, and the staff are courteous. It’s a 30-minute e-rickshaw ride from vrindavan and about 30 minutes from the train station. Outside, the cobblestone roads and cows wandering around give the area an old-time Mathura feel. I’d definitely stay here again, even on a visit to Agra. From nizamuddin, it’s a two-hour train ride to Mathura, where a whole new world of divinity opens up. Come explore the magic.
