The Kedar Resort

We stayed here with friends from Europe during Holi and had a comfortable, hospitable visit. The staff made us feel at home, and we had a nice view of the resort’s green ground. It’s only 800 m from janambhoomi, so getting around was easy. The stay felt relaxed and chill.

It’s less than 1.5 km from Krishna Janmabhoomi, and the location is very good. Our room and bathroom were both spacious, neat, clean, and tidy. There was hot and cold water around the clock, along with Wi-Fi, TV, a tea and coffee maker, and toiletries. A very good place to stay.

Everything from prompt room service to the delicious food was top-notch. The staff welcomed us warmly when we checked in and stayed attentive, making sure our needs were met. The rooms were spacious, very clean, and well-kept, a peaceful place to come back to after sightseeing. I had a wonderful stay at Kedar Resort in Mathura and highly recommend it for a comfortable, hospitable visit.

The outside of the resort looks neat and appealing, but our stay inside was far worse than I can describe. I’m giving this account from my own experience, and I don’t believe the online reviews are authentic. We booked two nights and one day for three guests. There were mosquitoes and flies in the room, and the kettle was dirty with cockroaches and eggs inside. We were promised toiletries, but none were provided. We got only two towels for three people, and just one queen bed, although they had promised two. The geyser didn’t work, so we had cold showers in cold weather. Used coffee mugs had been left on the windowsill, there was no kids’ play area as described, and the AC remote wasn’t given to us. The TV remotes were hidden too, even after we asked. We repeatedly asked for a different kettle and hot water, but got no help. When we arrived, staff members were sleeping in the room under all the blankets. The extra blankets they gave us were dirty and used, with shoe prints, lipstick, blood, and other stains. We asked for hot drinking water because the kettle was filthy, and they gave us water with mosquito larvae in it. They refused to provide bottled drinking water, saying it would cost extra. Reception staff were extremely mean and unhelpful. We were told someone would answer calls 24/7, but nobody picked up, and the landline didn’t work, so we had to use another number with poor signal. This was the worst stay I’ve ever had, not worth the price, and I’d never recommend this resort.
