Hotel Monarch Aachal

The cleaning staff were polite and helpful, and having a liquor shop in the same building was convenient. Beyond those points, my short stay at Hotel Monarch Aachal was disappointing. The service was just okay, without much warmth or attention, and the rooms and general upkeep were average, with cleanliness and maintenance falling short. The place didn’t feel well managed. I paid around ₹10,000 for 3 nights, which seemed far too much for what I got. I’d look for a better option next time in Siliguri.

The food is good, but the dining area needs a better atmosphere to make the experience work. Since the place is currently being renovated or built, the internal routes need a closer review. The ambience is a bit of a letdown right now. Accessibility also needs major attention, especially the ramps, elevator, and washrooms, to make the place truly wheelchair friendly.

Its location near the airport and national highway is the one real plus. I wouldn’t eat at this hotel, though. Just go across the road to Arsalan.

Being near the highway and Bagdogra Airport was convenient, but my stay at Hotel Monarch Aachal fell well short of what I expected. The room was cramped, the wardrobe was filthy, and there were stains on the bedsheets. I also saw insects crawling in the bathroom, and there were no slippers. The staff were polite, but seemed undertrained and didn’t handle complaints well. Food was mediocre, overpriced, and limited in choice, while the Wi-Fi kept failing. For the price, I expected a clean room and basic comforts. I wouldn’t suggest it for families or anyone hoping for a pleasant stay.
