OYO 5183 Hotel Subhadra Residency

At Hotel Subhadra in Meerut, insects filled the room, including lots of mosquitoes, so I couldn't rest properly. The room was smelly and dusty, and clearly hadn't been cleaned for a long time. The bed, mattress, and sheets were covered in dust and looked as if they hadn't been changed in weeks. It was disgusting and unacceptable. The bathroom and toilet were filthy, the toilet seats were broken, and hygiene was very poor. There was no heating despite it being winter, which made the stay even more uncomfortable. Staff were rude and unhelpful, and they charged more than the amount clearly shown online. That felt dishonest and unfair. The hotel failed on cleanliness, comfort, and basic hospitality. It was a truly terrible stay, and I strongly advise others to avoid this place at all costs.

There's no separate parking, and the parking area is so small that you'll need to leave your vehicle on the roadside. The place works for gatherings of up to 500 people, but it starts to feel crowded beyond that. The lobby only holds 100 people.

They wanted us to hand over our passports for the night and said we'd get them back in the morning. We felt uncomfortable with that, so we stayed at another hotel.

I booked through the Agoda App, but when I arrived at 9:30pm they flatly refused to check me in, saying they don't take foreigners. I'm British, and I explained that I'd been studying in India for 20 years, but they still wouldn't let me stay.
