Antrix Resorts & Retreat

We had a relaxing break at Antrix Resort, Uttarakhand, with the mountains all around and a really peaceful setting. The warm hospitality and helpful staff made the stay even nicer. We enjoyed the food and ambience too, and it felt like a lovely spot to spend time in nature with family or friends.

I brought my parents, my brother’s family, and my wife and son this time, hoping they’d enjoy the same pleasant weekend and natural surroundings we had last year. That first visit had been excellent, with outstanding service, impressive food, and clean, comfortable rooms, so I was surprised by how much had changed. This stay was extremely disappointing. Our room wasn’t properly cleaned, the washroom leaked, and the bed smelled unpleasant. Service was very slow, and when we complained, staff barely responded and seemed unconcerned. It’s disheartening that the experience fell so far short of our previous visit.

What stood out most at Antrix Resorts & Retreat in Rishikesh was how welcoming and attentive the staff were. From the front desk to the restaurant team, everyone was kind, professional, and ready to help. Check-in was smooth, and I felt welcome straight away. They were often attentive to what guests might need, and that care came through throughout my stay. The resort is in a serene setting in the Himalayan foothills, with immaculate facilities and a relaxing feel that made it seem like a home away from home. I had a great stay and highly recommend it.

It was extremely hard to reach the resort. The roads were scary and winding, and it took about two hours longer than the drive from main Rishikesh. The location was also quite different from what had been described. Once there, we saw a dog literally peeing in the pool. It was too gross to deal with. Nothing about the hygiene, ambience, or food felt up to date, and the staff were highly unprofessional. I also felt that animals could approach at night, and that nobody would be able to help in an emergency at that location. We felt stuck, and our trip was spoiled to a great extent. The owner was respectful on the phone, but when we complained, he showed a different side and didn't return any of the advance we had paid. It felt as if large advances were their only source of income, since I can't imagine anyone wanting to stay there after seeing the place.
