Capital O 35477 The Long Bay

For the price, this deserves five stars. The owner was welcoming, gave us tips on places to visit, and even let us extend our stay without extra charges. Staff were helpful, the pool was clean and well maintained, and there’s free wifi. The first-floor rooms with balconies are especially nice, and the place is quiet and away from busy streets. It was a little hard to find, but that also makes it feel secluded. Don’t miss the nearest morjim beach. Just be aware the pool is 5 ft deep, so take care if you have a child with you. A few things to know: there’s no intercom, so you have to go to the pantry to make requests. The kitchen is limited to complimentary breakfast if your booking includes it, and lunch and dinner must be ordered from outside. Linens could be changed more regularly. These may not matter to everyone, but keep them in mind if they’re priorities for you.

We booked 3 cottages and would visit again. The owner is cheerful, enjoyable, and helpful in every way. Rooms and washrooms were well maintained, and the linens were clean. The pool and breakfast were very nice too. Room service was excellent, parking was available, and the beach is close. Hot water was available 24hours and the air conditioning worked fine. #5STAR

The caretaker was a really helpful young guy, though I didn’t meet the property owner. The cottages were cozy and immaculately clean, with spotless linens and nicely done bathrooms. We had a dreamy stay and enjoyed the pool with great songs playing in the background. I’d love to stay at the long bay again on my next visit. Thanks to Oyo for the affordable, hassle-free booking.

The bathroom was an absolute disaster. For some strange reason, we couldn’t let water spill anywhere outside the shower cubicle, which made keeping it that way a hassle. The room itself was spacious, but there are other reasons I wouldn’t rate the rooms highly. The owner was rude, though the watchman was kind of nice. He’s the one who prepares breakfast, and don’t expect a buffet. He offers a couple of items for the day, then makes your selection. The portions aren’t generous, but the food is tasty. The property is in what felt like a slum area, with a pig sty next door, and the roads are narrow. Parking is on the street. Our car was blocked by another one, so we had to cancel an early morning trip and go back to bed, resentfully. Bottled water is provided, just one litre per day. It’s close to a secluded beach, but otherwise this property doesn’t have much to offer.
