We stayed for one night in February this year. The resort has direct access to the beach, and the cottages are arranged around the swimming pool. Foreign visitors come for longer stays and to avoid the crowds. The partial sea-view rooms are quite expensive!
Our flight was cancelled, so we couldn’t travel. Why did the hotel management refuse to refund the money for our cancelled stay? We consider this theft!
The rooms are dirty. They don’t seem to understand that fittings, faucets and hoses need to be washed and descaled too. Sheets and towels aren’t changed unless you ask. The pool ladder is broken, even though that’s how you get in and out. The beach toilet is filthy and has no toilet paper. It’s impossible to sit on the toilet seat because nobody has cleaned it. The location is so-so. The walk to the village center is short, but runs through gullies on a winding, completely unlit path. Dogs bark and run up to you at every corner. The ocean is 100 meters away across hot sand. We were in Arambol, where the beach is small and the ocean is right there. The hotel food isn’t good. The nearby shaki is much better. There’s no entertainment, so you have to go downtown. They misled us about the Wi-Fi, which only works at reception. The safe is also only at reception and costs extra. There’s no safe in the room, and there never has been. They don’t provide water in the room, so you have to buy it. If you’re into hiking and used to difficult conditions, you might want to try it. Otherwise, I don’t recommend it. It’s dirty, the food isn’t tasty, and it’s a total rip-off.
