The speed boat ride was enjoyable, but the food was so bad that our stay experience was a waste of time and money. They served only rice, sambar, and vegetable food with fish fry. We bought a large prawn and snapper to be cooked, but neither was cleaned or cooked properly. It was my first Kerala trip with my family. The house boat AC room was nice to stay in. I’d stay in a hotel, eat good food outside it, and try the speed boat.
The house boat was good, but check the AC details in advance. There are deluxe and luxurious room categories, and the deluxe room only has limited access to AC.
The people maintaining the house boat were very helpful. It was well maintained, and I had a great experience.
Our boat was named Earvadi. The staff were friendly and courteous, and the service was outstanding. We had one small issue in the morning when the water was too salty for brushing our teeth, but otherwise it was a great experience. The boat makes a stop so we can buy whichever fish or seafood we like, then they cook it onboard at no charge. Kerala is a coastal city, though, and I felt the seafood prices were too high.
A beautiful scenic view and ride on a luxurious, very well-maintained boat house. The staff were the best, very friendly. A must-try experience ❤️
