Abode Bombay

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and there were thoughtful touches everywhere that made me especially happy. I also didn't expect to find a Subko coffee shop in the common area, which was a lovely extra. Breakfast had loads of tasty options. The room was spacious, with a comfortable bed and lovely linens, and the shower was stronger than the one at home. The photos were accurate, though they didn't capture how beautifully everything was put together from the street entrance to the room.

The rooms were clean, well equipped, and a welcome retreat from the chaos outside. Nilesh and the team were genuinely friendly and helpful, and breakfast offered lots of choice. The tours and massages were worth the cost and experience. I especially recommend the early morning visit to the veg, flower, and fish markets. I was unsure about doing the Dharavi slum tour, but I'm glad I went. The location is lovely, near the Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Palaca Hotel. We loved staying at the Abode in Mumbai. If you're the sort of person who needs a 5* place, perhaps India isn't for you, but otherwise I can't think of a better place to stay in Mumbai.

The hotel gave us a welcome bit of calm after busy days walking around Mumbai, and the team made the visit special. Nilesh, Norbert, and everyone at Abode were hospitable and knew their stuff. The beautiful room and impeccably decorated and furnished building are just a stone's throw from Taj Hotel and Gateway of India. If we come back to Mumbai, this is where we'll stay. I arrived early and was able to settle in the cosy reception area, a comfortable little haven. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and helpful. This charming boutique hotel has a classic old Bombay look. Breakfast was delicious and showed real care for local cuisine, and the coffee was the best I had in India. If you're in south Mumbai and want a good espresso or a daytime oasis, it's a lovely place to visit.
