Hotel Sapna Marine

The reception manager behaved very badly and showed no respect. A very bad experience.

Apart from the prime location, everything about this stay was a zero for me. The room was horrifying: paan juice had been spat on the wall behind the door, and the wash basin was damaged, with only a thin stream of water from the tap. The shower was damaged too, the commode was so dirty it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in at least 10 years, and the mug was broken. The flush was broken, and the taps were old and rusty. They provided almost no comfort or convenience. The staff weren't nice either. I accidentally broke my sensor key, and they had the audacity to charge us 1000 rupees for it, despite providing so many broken, dirty and rusty things themselves. We also paid double the price for mineral water, which wasn't even complementary. They charge as much as possible and provide the worst amenities. The price was far too high. You can get an idea of the hotel's poor condition just from the reception room. I wish I'd never stayed here. Money is precious, so spend it wisely somewhere else. Now you can decide for yourselves. I rate it 1/10, an absolute rubbish hotel.

The location near Bombay hospital was why I chose hotel sapna marine through makemytrip, since I had work at the hospital. I paid 3514 rupees for one day on 4/5/2024. I regret booking without checking the Google reviews first, and suggest reading other guests' reviews before booking. The room the receptionist showed me at check-in was very small, dirty and untidy, with stained bedsheets and a comforter. It smelled terrible from damp and fungus. Water had leaked into the walls, the paint was peeling, and fungus had grown on the walls and ceiling. The furniture was old and rusty, and termites and pests had got into the cupboard. The other rooms were dirty and poorly maintained too. I asked the manager to change my room. He showed me two other rooms, but they were also smelly and untidy. He refused, saying the hotel was full and there were no rooms available. He only changed the bedsheet and told me this was the only room he could offer. I complained through the makemytrip app and by phone, but the problem wasn't resolved. I had to spend the whole night in that dirty, stinky room, and it made my stay a nightmare. Even the lobby and corridor walls were damp, with fungus and peeling paint. The receptionist was very rude and not cooperative, and the staff were unprofessional. The hotel didn't provide complementary water bottles. When I asked, I was told they were chargeable, at double the price of a bottle from outside. They provided no toiletries except a very cheap soap and shampoo sachets, and refused my requests for a dental kit, shower kit and hair kit. For this price, the hotel has nothing to offer except the location. You can get much by hotel in half of the price.

Spna Marine's location may be prime, and its facade and lobby looked impressive at first, but the price overshadowed any enjoyment. Seeing the room cost at check-in made me regret booking. It was far more than I thought the stay was worth. I'd expected lavish furnishings and close attention to detail, but found a standard room like one at a hotel charging half as much. The decor was outdated, the furniture worn, and cleanliness left much to be desired. The promised amenities were there, but didn't justify the steep price. Even the services called "complimentary" felt like basic inclusions to defend the cost, rather than genuine gestures for guests. Meals were also unreasonably expensive and left a bitter taste, figuratively and literally. The staff were polite and accommodating, though I couldn't shake the feeling they knew the hotel was overpriced. What guests actually receive doesn't match the value being promised. My recent stay at Spna Marine was disappointing because of the cost compared with the quality. The hotel seems to be capitalizing on its reputation instead of delivering the luxury it promises. Unless the price structure is reconsidered or major improvements are made, I can't recommend Spna Marine to other travelers.
