Krishna Palace Hotel

We came for a wedding and were booked into this place on the understanding that it was a 4 star hotel on Grant Road, Mumbai. It was a very bad experience, and I wouldn’t give it even one star if zero were available. The location was poor, the rooms were very small, and there was no ventilation, so both the room and bathroom smelled. The corridor was narrow, and people were talking loudly well after midnight. The bathroom was especially unsuitable for older people, pregnant women, and people with physical challenges. The toilet sat only about a foot off the floor, the hygiene faucet was on the left, there was no hand shower, and the tiny bathtub was difficult to climb into. The door opened inward, and there was no exhaust fan. Breakfast was another disappointment: little choice, bad taste, and rude staff. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

The food was delicious, the staff were good, and I loved the atmosphere. Special thanks to Taiba for sorting out my early check-in and helping me afterward. I had a comfortable stay.

The room was in bad shape: there were flies and soiled towels, the AC barely worked, and there were no slippers or laundry bag. Toiletries weren’t refilled either. We also had to pay a ₹1500 security deposit at check-in for no reason. It felt like a cheap 2-star place posing as a 4-star. My wife and I booked Krishna Palace Hotel for 3 days. There was no option for a king bed when we booked, so we called. They said they’d give us one if it was available that day, since it was the same room category. But when we arrived, they said we’d have to pay extra for a joint bed instead of twin beds because we’d booked through Agoda at a lower price. We had to argue a lot after they went back on what they’d told us on the phone, just because we got a discount. Terrible management and a bad hotel overall. I’d say skip it. I won’t be back.

The hotel is easy to reach, as it’s near the station, and being pure vegetarian is a plus. The management is well mannered and keeps cleanliness and hygiene under control. The banquets also give it a very family friendly feel.
