Niranta Transit Hotel Mumbai Airport

We stayed one night before an early departure. The rooms were nice and clean, and the service was friendly. The entrance can be hard to spot when arriving by car. We got dropped at departures, then took the elevator and walked around until we found the hotel. Once there, the location was very convenient. Early in the morning, a staff member walked us to the departure entrance and helped carry our bags.

The room was very small, though I was out working all day and only needed somewhere to sleep for two nights, so it didn't bother me too much. Cleanliness got full marks, and the washroom was tidy. Breakfast was decent and tasted good. The bigger problem was luggage storage: there is no cloak-room, and the hotel would not hold my bags under any circumstances. I checked out in the morning and had to take them all the way to Churchgate and back to the airport, which was a major inconvenience. There were service gaps too. My room had no hand towel or wardrobe, and the iron came only after five follow-ups. There was no moisturiser either; after several reminders, it arrived about half an hour later. It's an average budget stay inside the airport. Don't expect much beyond the basics.

Picking up my sister returning from abroad felt smooth and relaxing because I stayed here. The staff were polite and helpful and made sure things were taken care of. The rooms were clean and comfortable, just right for a quick stay near the airport. Food was fresh, tasty, and served on time. I had a wonderful stay at Niranra Airport Transit Hotel and would recommend it for a convenient, comfortable airport stop.

We arrived exhausted after a delayed domestic flight into Terminal 1, and getting to the hotel in Terminal 2 was far harder than I expected. The bus was crowded and uncomfortable, and once we reached the right terminal, we struggled to find the hotel. We had to ask airport staff, walk through busy crowds, and cross roads at night with all our luggage. At the entrance, there was an armed guard and scanner. I expected security, but this felt intimidating, especially after visiting airports in Delhi, Jaipur, and Udaipur over the previous couple of weeks. A staff member came out to greet us, and he was the only good part of the experience. Even he seemed unsure whether the guard would let us in. The check-in staff member was impatient and unhelpful, asking us again for information we had already provided after booking, including our arrival and departure flight numbers. Then we were told our room was in another wing, a short walk away. I saw the helpful porter try to get the check-in woman to assist us more, but she refused. Another staff member escorted us and our luggage across. He did his job, though he nearly left one of our hand-luggage bags inside the scanner. My husband spotted it and made sure we got it back. After all the checks, forms, and getting a room key, we still had to pass another armed guard and scanner. This guard took a very small pair of scissors from my travel sewing kit, even though they were in my hold luggage, locked and still security tagged from the incoming flight. None of our international or domestic flights had objected to them. I let them take the scissors. I just wanted to reach the room. We hoped to get a snack and drink, but couldn't reach the arrivals area with the shops and restaurants after following the front desk's directions. Tired and fed up, we gave up and went back. The same guard who had frisked us and our luggage minutes earlier frisked us again, this time with no bags. The hotel confirmation cards we'd been given didn't avoid another check. We looked at room service and wanted a beer with our food, but were told alcohol could only be sold in the other part of the hotel. Nothing in the room mentioned this, and beer was listed on the room-service menu. By then we didn't trust the room service either, so we went to bed tired, stressed, and hungry. The room itself was okay and the bed was comfortable. There was tea, coffee, drinking water, a hot shower, toiletries, and clean towels. I could barely appreciate any of it by that point and couldn't wait to get out and into the airport properly.
