OYO 7407 Hotel Blue Sea

The ambience is good, but the staff didn’t seem properly trained in hospitality. We had to ask and remind them repeatedly to get things done, including housekeeping and breakfast. We were three families in three rooms, and at first all three rooms had AC units that weren’t working properly and still couldn’t cool the rooms after an hour. After we followed up many times, they moved all of us to different rooms with working AC. Even getting a bath towel and soap took three requests, an hour after check-in.

The listing gave the wrong location, so I had to turn back and search for the actual place. My room was untidy and smelled bad, though a service boy sprayed it when I asked and that helped. At first reception said the TV wasn’t working and wouldn’t let me use it, but it worked perfectly fine. The TV and AC remotes had been hidden, so I had to operate both directly on the TV.

The receptionist lady is soft-spoken and genuinely helpful, and outside food is allowed. The rest of the stay was rough. The rooms are tiny, damaged walls and a bad smell included, and they come with all kinds of insects, ants and worms, so be ready for bites. The bathrooms are so small you have to shower while sitting on the toilet. The staff seem genuine, but lazy about their jobs. Towels, soap and shampoo don’t arrive unless you keep reminding them. If breakfast is included, don’t expect much. At best, it’s a few slices of bread with butter and tea or idlis, and it doesn’t match what other OYO hotels offer. Check the pictures for the insects.

I was asked at checkout to open the app I’d used to book so they could get a confirmation. While they had my phone, they gave themselves a five-star rating without telling me. The phone in the room didn’t work for calling reception, and the service was poor. The room was dirty and stank, there were cockroaches on the bed, water leaked in the room, the bed was filthy, and the sheets had cigarette holes. The bathroom was dirty and broken, and the food was a disaster. This is the most disgusting hotel I’ve ever visited.
