We spent over half an hour trying to find this place. It’s tucked behind an old building that looks like a warehouse from outside, and even locals didn’t know it. The grill elevator and wooden stairs didn’t help. I think it may have recently moved to Oyo, which could explain why it was so hard to locate. The room smelled awful, like something had died in it. The bed linen looked old and was dirty, and the interior was in poor shape. There were no towels, and they hadn’t removed the used towel left by the previous guests. The toilet exhaust didn’t work, and the staff didn’t seem to know what an exhaust fan was. A waste bin was left in front of our room, with brooms and cleaning supplies along the walkway. I’ve attached photos. Breakfast was just one item, not a buffet, and we didn’t like the North Indian dish we were given. With the condition of the room, this felt like a cheap lodge, nowhere near even Oyo’s standard, despite being called a Flagship. If you have another option, don’t book here. This is my honest review, and I’d wait until these issues are fixed.

Being within walking distance of Gateway of India was the main advantage, and there were restaurants nearby. The staff were kind enough to move us when water seeped through the bathroom, and the hotel’s staff and location were the only good parts. The rooms were quite small, there were mosquitoes, and there was no Wi-Fi. Instead of a mosquito liquid repellent, we were given a spray. Breakfast was cold and too little for what we paid. Our first room had no Oyo soap bottles or dustbin. The property was almost impossible to find because there were no Oyo signs outside. It might work for one night if you’re set on staying in Colaba proper.

The location and the price Oyo offers are the only real benefits here. We took a cab from Dadar station and got out opposite the Google Maps location, but there was no nameboard or Oyo sign, so we called reception. The receptionist didn’t know where the hotel was either. I mentioned a shop right on the building’s ground floor, but she didn’t recognize it and sent us 15 buildings further before we had to turn back. We stayed two nights. Wi-Fi never worked, there was no hot water, and the toilet smelled so bad that leaving its door open for a few seconds made the whole room stink. No toiletries were provided, just a half-full handwash bottle. There was hair on the pillowcases and pistachio shells on the floor. On the second day we weren’t given fresh towels. Staff said the laundry person hadn’t shown up and they had none. After we explained that the cleaner had taken our used towels while cleaning, they gave us one towel for the two of us. The other reviewers are right about the lift, dirty linens, and rude staff. If you have to climb three floors because the lift isn’t working, there’s no help with bags. The cleaning boys show attitude when you ask them to empty the dustbin or replace the trash bags. When my wife asked, the cleaner said it wasn’t even full, so he wouldn’t take out the old garbage. I stayed in the last week of June and told Oyo all this on the feedback call afterward. If all you want is an air-conditioned room with a bed and you’re willing to give the staff some attitude back, you could choose this place. Otherwise, read these reviews and the others before spending your money. Better to stay somewhere else.

After this stay, I’ve completely lost faith in OYO. They downgraded my booking from Premium to this place at the last minute, and it was very hard to spot. The building photos have been heavily edited. In reality it’s a very old building, and the lifts don’t work properly. The hotel only occupies part of one floor, so it should be treated as a budget OYO spot, not a Flagship with amenities. I spent two nights here and had a very bad experience. How does OYO skip background checks and give any hotel Flagship status, especially for a Premium customer? OYO failed badly. I’ve attached a photo of the entrance and will let everyone judge for themselves.

I had a good stay, and the staff were very cooperative. The Wi-Fi and geyser issues have been fixed. The rooms are in a residential and office complex. The lift still hadn’t been repaired by the end of April 2019, though, so expect to climb two or three floors of stairs to get to your room.
