The breakfast was lovely, and the flute player made it even nicer. Our stay in Mumbai was so comfortable, and the staff's service made the whole experience memorable. Thanks especially to Shantaram for making sure the room had everything we needed, and to the lady who kindly upgraded us to a room with a beautiful view.

At Konkan Cafe in President Hotel, Mumbai, I tried the sambhar rice and really enjoyed it. The thali Rasam was excellent too. They offer both thalis and ala carte, and I had a good experience overall 👍.

President Mumbai is in the heart of South Mumbai, and the food and overall hospitality made for a comfortable, enjoyable stay. I did have a problem with one front office staff member, though. I'm used to very warm service from Taj properties, but this lady came across as arrogant and hard to approach. She barely spoke during check-in or check-out, which felt out of line with the Taj hospitality I'm accustomed to.

We stayed at President on Monday and Tuesday before a Wednesday-to-Saturday wedding, then hoped to leave our luggage at the hotel on Saturday while sightseeing before our flight. Ameya gave me the Duty Manager's number, but the manager didn't respond. We would have paid to store the bags if needed. Earlier, the airport transfer through travelodesk, included with our booking.com reservation, worked very well despite our delayed flight. The driver waited patiently. We arrived around 2am, and check-in went smoothly. We accepted a reasonably priced upgrade to a spacious suite with two bathrooms for the two nights. Ameya at reception was great and helped arrange a Mumbai day tour with a local licensed guide. The tour payment went directly to the guide in the morning, while taxi miles and services were charged to the hotel. Tour pricing was a little confusing, so I'd suggest asking for the guide's number and checking prices directly. Breakfast was included and pretty good, though the service struggled at busy times. We waited a long time for coffee.
