Residency Hotel Fort

The staff are lovely and breakfast is very good, but our room has been a letdown. We’re two nights into a three-night stay in Club Room 410, in the annex on the main floor. It’s the only ground-floor room, right beside the elevator and close to the entrance. There’s no window, and we hear the elevator late at night and very early in the morning, plus noise from the hallway all night. Finding a dead cockroach didn’t help. Avoid room 410!

The rooms are compact, but they’re furnished well and make good use of the space, with quality linens and modern amenities. Breakfast is a generous buffet with local and international options. The front desk and hospitality team were warm, professional, and helpful with directions and local tips. Just plan around the strict check-in and check-out times, since there doesn’t seem to be much flexibility for early arrival or late departure. The location is the real draw if you want to explore South Mumbai. CSMT (Victoria Terminus) is very close, and Marine Drive, the Gateway of India, and plenty of cafés and restaurants are within walking distance. It’s a clean, stylish base with a nice mix of classic South Bombay charm and modern convenience. A good choice if location and quality matter more to you than room size.

The food stood out for me. There’s a good choice at breakfast and it tastes consistently nice; room service is good too, though a little pricey, which makes sense for the location. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with decent space by Mumbai standards, and housekeeping does a good job. It’s a calm, professional place that works for business travelers and families. There isn’t much entertainment inside, but Fort has cafés, restaurants, heritage spots, and nightlife a short walk or drive away. CST, Marine Drive, Colaba, and major business areas are all close, with excellent connections. A reliable South Mumbai stay if you want good rooms, good food, and a prime location.

The staff were polite and quick to help, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Residency Fort Hotel is well placed for seeing South Mumbai’s landmarks. It’s a convenient, budget-friendly option in the Fort area for a short leisure trip or business stay, and I’d recommend it.
