For a solo trip to Mumbai, Star Dormitory is a very easy choice at this price. It has what you need to stay comfortably without spending much. I spent one night there and had a very good experience: the staff were helpful and friendly, and both the washrooms and beds were clean. The bed was comfortable too. Highly recommended!

A place can feel heavenly or terrible depending on its people, and the hosts at Star Dormitory give it a heavenly touch. Sajjad, the owner, is calm and composed, one of the best characters you’ll meet. Manoj is disciplined and selfless, and keeps things hygienic. Without him, I don’t think the space would be this perfect. Krishna is strict, tough, dedicated, and a familiar face in the dorm who keeps things on track. Ashish feels like everyone’s younger brother, a pure soul. Bala is the kitchen master. Thank you all for making this space wonderful. Please keep it neat and clean when you visit. It’s hard to find a space this nice, and we can see how much work everyone puts in, so please come with a good heart. 🙏🏿

The dorms and washrooms are well maintained, the owner is a nice guy, and the other staff treated me well. But Manoj from housekeeping was extremely rude to customers he personally didn’t like, even when we hadn’t done anything wrong or disturbed him. I barely spoke to him, yet he literally told me to get out in the middle of the night. During my one week there, I saw two other customers run into the same problem. This affected the whole team, and it happened while the owner was away for a while. If you’re planning to stay here, be aware of Manoj.

The place is clean, affordable, and the staff are helpful and good. I’d recommend it most for someone traveling alone to Mumbai.
