The Royal Orchid

I went there for a function and was really impressed. The place was clean and well kept, the staff were great, and the food was wonderful, especially the starters. It's been operating for many years, but its maintenance and upkeep make it better than most newer hotels.

The restaurant filled up quickly around 1:45 PM on Sunday, so it's clearly popular. The washroom was spotless, and the stewards were attentive and helpful with suggestions about meals and quantities. It's a spacious, pure vegetarian restaurant with thoughtfully designed seating and lighting. I was there as a friend's guest and tried soup, pot rice, lotus crispy, sautéed vegetables, and Baskin Robbins ice cream. Everything tasted good, and the portions were generous. A soup serving split between two was enough, as was one portion each of the vegetables and lotus crispy for four diners. Even the single scoops of ice cream were generous.

Valet parking made things easy, and the service was impeccable. The staff paid close attention to us throughout the meal, and the flavors were spot on. A solid family restaurant. 10/10.
