Udupi Dormitory

The capsule rooms are lovely, with curtains and a personal locker that give you privacy, and it's easy to meet interesting people there. It's on the main road, an easy walk from Sakinaka Metro Station. There are plenty of nearby food spots to try, and you could stay here for a longer stretch too.

We ended up here a few days ago after Hotel Skyway In sent us over because of repair work. The service was good, but the rooms were very small and really poor. They looked like places meant only for people wanting some private time by the roadside. The other rooms were bad too.

I'm fed up with this hostel. It looked clean outside and the toilet itself was fairly clean, but there wasn't even a toilet seat. I'm writing this from bed at five in the morning, after killing three bedbugs. I can still see some hiding in the gaps when I shine a light. My sheet seemed used, and they don't appear to change the bedding every day. I was initially turned away because I'd booked and paid through agoda at a cheap rate. The fans are dusty, staff aren't very friendly, and crumbs and dust are piled up around the place. Some beds have no light, though most do. The AC doesn't run in the daytime, leaving it stuffy and humid inside. There's no sunlight or ventilation, like a cave for sleeping.

The beds are clean and comfortable, and the price is reasonable. The staff are friendly and courteous. If I get the chance to visit Mumbai, I'd like to stay in this dormitory again.
