Eden Woods Resorts and Spa

The resort sits in a gorgeous green valley, and its landscaping is lovely and well kept. We were a family of three and had a wonderful stay. The pool, with a stream in view, was especially charming, and there’s also a zip line and rope crossing. We ate outside overlooking the valley, and the restaurant served good food promptly. The gym and spa are on site too. Staff were consistently helpful and friendly. Shamlee and Nithya at reception gave us quick, clear help whenever we needed it, and Shyam made sure meals were sorted when our check-in and check-out happened at odd times. Rain made the place feel like a dream.

We really enjoyed the food, which was delicious and had a good range of choices. The clean, comfortable rooms and well-kept grounds made it easy to relax, with lovely nature all around and a peaceful feel that suited a family getaway. Staff were courteous, friendly, and quick to help, and the attention to detail made the hospitality stand out. We’d happily visit again.

The setting is gorgeous, and we really liked the grounds and the food. The meals were delicious. The rooms and service, though, were a different story at first. Our first room had mold on the window, a locker that didn’t work, and the handle came off the outdoor shower when I tried to use it. We asked for three yoga mats when we arrived, but nobody brought them. We had to ask reception again the next morning and got just one. We were frustrated, so my husband spoke with the manager. He was kind enough to move us to a much nicer room, which we loved, and we appreciated that. Later, housekeeping didn’t replace the towels or bathroom supplies, and there were no extra cups.

The views are the main draw here, with the Munnar hills, valleys, clouds, and greenery all around. The resort is beautifully designed, and waking up to that scenery was memorable. Kids especially enjoyed the zip line, which is included in the room rate and kept them busy for hours. There’s good potential for a family stay, but a few things fell short of the advertised 5-star standard. The bathrooms could be better in their design and finish, breakfast was decent but repetitive over several nights, and the bicycles, darts, and archery need more upkeep. We also felt uncomfortable being strongly encouraged to post a Google review and rating at checkout. Feedback should feel voluntary. With better maintenance and some improvements to amenities and the guest experience, this place could match its 5-star positioning.
