Shola Heaven

What made the stay memorable was how welcoming the staff were. They were always ready to help and treated us warmly throughout. The breakfast was delicious too. Set among the hills, the resort has beautiful mountain views, and waking up to all that greenery felt refreshing. Our room was clean, comfortable, and well cared for, so it was easy to relax. I’d gladly recommend it to friends and family looking for a peaceful getaway.

The staff, from the property manager to the service crew, were kind and really nice. Our room was clean and well kept, and the food was good and plentiful. It’s a calm spot close to nature, with an excellent location and lovely views. A very satisfying stay, easily 5+ stars.

The rooms and bathrooms are spacious, and getting here by car is easy, which can be an issue at some other resorts with steep slopes. Parking is limited, though. There’s an on-site restaurant with good food at okay prices, and room service is available. The property is a single building with garden-view and hill-view rooms, and I preferred the hill view. You can see fog-covered mountains at dawn and dusk. It’s right by the reserve forest and at the edge of Kanthaloor, with campfires, forest trekking, and jeep safaris available. Good value for money, and I’d highly recommend staying here.

Kanthalloor itself has beautiful surroundings and a lovely atmosphere for clearing your mind, but our stay at Shalo Heaven was awful. We were a group of 30, including 10 kids. The staff came across as arrogant, and the rooms smelled of drainage. Even after we ordered an extra 6 kg of food, the portions were very small. I can’t think of anything good to say about the place. It was a really bad staycation. Please don’t spoil your vacation by staying at Shalo Heaven.
