VITS Select Casuarina Diveagar

Our first stay at vits was decent. The rooms were neat and clean, and breakfast was decent too. One thing needs attention: there are gaps between the tiles along the walkway through the grounds. Please fill them so children and older guests can walk safely.

The balcony had a lovely view, and coconut trees surrounded the resort. Our room was clean and roomy, and they offered us a welcome drink when we arrived. The pool was pretty good too. The main drawback was having no proper restaurant on site, so we had to eat at a local place outside that serves veg and non-veg thalis. Still, it was a positive stay.

We had to wait at reception until 1 PM because early check-in wasn't allowed. The place felt poorly maintained for ₹8,000 a night, more like a ₹3,000-₹4,000 hotel, so I wouldn't recommend it at that price. There was a strong non-veg cooking smell around the dining and kitchen area, and the seating and ambience were very average. The room had no proper ventilation and felt suffocating even with AC. On both nights the AC stopped working at midnight and only made fan noise. The ceiling fan was loud and seemed unsafe, like it might fall at any moment, and one of the room lights didn't work. There was only one washroom near reception, which was inconvenient. The mug and bucket weren't clean, and it felt like a homestay in kokan.

The breakfast buffet was a letdown. The menu could be better, the food quality wasn't up to the mark, and the poha was soaked in oil. The serving staff could also have been more attentive and flexible. We still had a pleasant stay at Vits Select Hotel, Diveagar: the room was comfortable and well-maintained, the kids' area was neat and clean and my children had a great time there, and I enjoyed the pool too. Those facilities made for a good stay, though breakfast needs attention.
