The stay at RNS Guest House was excellent. We had a spacious room with breathtaking sea views, and the reception and service staff were helpful and courteous. The guest house itself was a lovely stay, but the breakfast experience at partner restaurant Naveen Hotel needs a lot of improvement. Breakfast came with coupons from reception. At Naveen Hotel, the staff weren't welcoming or helpful. When we asked about the menu, one staff member threw it on the table and walked away. We raised the issue, and the manager stepped in to take our order, but the experience made us feel unwelcome, as if serving us was a hassle. A few things at the property could be better. Getting around the property and area needs more transport support, since the steep climbs can be hard for senior citizens and people with mobility or knee issues. Wi-Fi and mobile network were very poor, which made communication difficult. An intercom to reception would help, and in-house food or room service would be more convenient for families and elderly guests who otherwise have to walk to another restaurant.

Temple and beach are within walking distance, though the crowd makes it hard to reach the guest house. The room was big and spacious, but the website photos are older. RNS cafe is nearby for meals.

The manager and supervisor showed no concern when we found bed bugs in our room, and the manager even blamed us for bringing them in. We stayed in the sea facing Nandi block. It's an uphill climb from reception to the basic room. There's no Wi-Fi, and mobile reception is poor even though it shows 5G.

We stayed with friends and family in December 2025. Don't take “New” in “RNS New Guest House” to mean the building is new. It's actually very old, poorly maintained, and basic cleanliness is lacking. Spider webs hadn't been cleaned. There are several guest houses or hotels on the same premises, each with different room rates. Confirm exactly which hotel they're giving you, as it's confusing. They advertise sea-facing views in all rooms, but that doesn't mean every room or the surroundings are clean or well maintained. Staff said the whole property, including hotels and temples, is privately owned. It seems the focus is on earning money instead of providing good service. Even the temple lacks proper management, with no effective system for handling large crowds.

The room was fairly clean, but there were ants all over, even around the bed and mattress. We put up with it without making an issue. We initially took the room for one night, arriving around 6pm, but the staff member who assigned it never told us the checkout time. Apparently she thought we should have known, which is very stupid. We had to go to a wedding 16km away the next day. At 12:30pm, a woman called and rudely insisted that we vacate immediately or pay extra if we didn't return at once. She claimed we'd occupied the room at 10:00am, which wasn't true, and checkout timings hadn't been explained beforehand. The staff, including the general manager and the woman at reception, behaved very rudely. I wouldn't recommend staying here, and this should be looked into.
