We kept having to ask for basic things, and the response was poor. That made the stay frustrating and inconvenient. There weren't even water bottles or essential toiletries in the room, which feels below the minimum for paid accommodation.

We went to the police station at about 3:30am, and the police were supportive and took down our details. We had involved them right away after the hotel owner, Marcel Kaneriya, entered our room without permission while my family and I were sleeping in Room 108 on the night of 27 December 2025. It happened twice. The second time, he tried to physically wake a female guest and take her out of the room, leaving us shocked, scared, and distressed. He didn't apologise, and later acted in an intimidating way. As New Zealand citizens living overseas, we are taking this to the New Zealand High Commission for consular support and will contact the National Commission for Women (India) to have it formally recorded. This is a matter of guest safety and privacy. Based on what happened to us, I don't recommend this hotel, especially for families or women travelling.
We changed hotels after just one day. The service and staff's behavior pushed us to do that. The rooms themselves were good, but room service was very limited, there was no way to contact reception from the room, and you had to go downstairs each time. The hotel is far from the lively parts of the city. We were told breakfast wasn't included, and they wouldn't provide even one bottled water because it wasn't in the package.
A lovely place, with good service and healthy food.
The room was spacious, though we did find some insects in it. You also can't bring food or liquor in from outside. Getting around was a hassle since the hotel is far from both the city and the beach, and local transport was hard to find. The restaurant runs from 8.00 AM to 11.00 PM, then closes right at 11. Even when we needed something for ourselves or our child, we were told we'd have to wait until 8.00 AM. We sat down for drinks at 10.00 pm and, at 11.00, were told to finish quickly or go back to our room. I'd book here only if I had my own vehicle.
