Aishwarya Residency

The room cost ₹3,000–₹4,000 per night, but it had dirty sheets and towels, mirrors that needed cleaning, a broken faucet holder, and cockroaches. There was one power socket, and it didn’t work, so I couldn’t charge my phone or laptop and had to order a power bank. Hot water never got properly hot even after several buckets, the kettle didn’t work, and I had to keep asking for water to be heated. We waited in the lounge nearly two hours without even being offered drinking water. The receptionist was blunt when I asked to check in early around 10 AM with my mother, who is over 60 and in poor health. I understand early check-in depends on availability, but she wouldn’t even check and later said we’d have to pay extra, despite rooms visibly being vacated. I was told to expect our room sharply at noon. When I repeated that request, she argued, accused me of being rude, and shouted at my mother. We’d also told her we expected to check out early, around 6-7 AM. I’d stayed here about 5-6 years ago and had a pleasant time, so I trusted the place again for a weekend, two nights and three days. This was a huge disappointment. The service, upkeep, and staff conduct fall far below what I’d expect from somewhere advertising itself as a three-star hotel. Management needs to address staff training, cleanliness, and basic amenities, especially how elderly guests are treated.

The location was good for a stay. For ₹3200 through Agoda, though, I got a messy room and a wet blanket that looked like it hadn’t been changed, nor had the bedsheet. They replaced both when I asked. There’s no complimentary drinking water, and the room isn’t soundproof as the pictures suggest. The top of the door is open too, which affects privacy and lets noise through. The room itself seemed fair for ₹1000–₹1200, so the seasonal price increase explains what I paid, but it still felt like a lot.

The room and service were excellent, but I was really disappointed by how the staff handled a mistake. We ordered egg hakka noodles without sauce, with extra vegetables, and got veg hakka noodles instead. When I questioned it, they tried to say it was my mistake. The next morning, as I was checking out, a gentleman said I didn’t need to pay for the noodles because the hotel had made the mistake. Later I met the manager, Shilpa, who told me not to come back to Aishwarya Residency in future. This was my fourth or fifth visit to Mysore. I usually book Aishwarya Residency or Aishwarya le through make my trip without hesitation, and I leave a review after each visit, hoping they’ll acknowledge it and improve their service. They haven’t. I’d advise Aishwarya Residency or the team to take customer complaints positively, acknowledge them, and make improvements. Thanks for the hospitality. I won’t trouble you again.

They really need to improve service. I had to make three personal requests, both at reception and room service, before an extra bed arrived. Toiletries were mediocre, too. The rooms were neat, though there was occasional renovation noise and the odd cockroach scouting around. I’m not saying the place was infested. Plumbing was top notch, on a par with most modern stays. The difficult part is the location: the crooked lane up to the hotel feels like a slum road. There’s no parking, only roadside parking, thankfully with security watching and guiding. I stayed three nights and, despite all the bad reviews, it wasn’t all that bad for us.
